How often should car air conditioning be serviced?

The interval depends on the vehicle model, how intensively the system is used and its condition; as a rule, air conditioning is checked every one to two years. If cooling performance has dropped or you notice noise or an unpleasant smell, it is better to come in sooner and establish the cause first.

The air conditioning blows but doesn’t cool. What could be wrong?

The cause may be low refrigerant, a leak in the circuit, a faulty compressor or sensors, or a clogged cabin filter. Simply topping the system up does not always solve the problem, so when cooling performance noticeably drops it is better to start with an inspection of the system.

Why is there an unpleasant smell when I turn the air conditioning on?
